Test Guidelines & Certification
Our art curriculum takes students on a creative journey through 15 thoughtfully designed projects, helping them grow from foundational skills to confident artistic expression.
To celebrate their learning milestones, students can earn three levels of certification — Elementary, Intermediate, and Advanced, each marking their progress and dedication.
Certification Levels

After completing the first 5 projects (up to the Mandala Project), students become eligible for the Elementary Level Test.
Those who are halfway through their 5th project can also register in advance.To qualify, students must also:
have participated in atleast 2 out-of-studio events, and
have completed at least 5 volunteer hours
Details :
Test Duration: 60 minutes
Test Fee: $50+tax = $53.95
Location: Bothell Studio

Students who have completed 10 projects can appear for the Intermediate Level Test.
Those who are halfway through their 10th project can also register in advance.To qualify, students must also:
have participated in atleast 4 out-of-studio events, and
have completed at least 15 volunteer hours

Test Fee: $75+tax = $80.93

The Advanced Certification is an external evaluation and can be taken after completion of all 15 projects in the curriculum. It is co-conducted by our affiliating organization in Bihar.
The evaluation is designed to assess a student’s mastery of artistic concepts at a professional level.

Test Schedule
All tests are conducted in person at our Bothell Studio on the second Saturday of these months:
January • April • July • October
Students can plan their assessments based on their project completion and readiness.
Out-of-station students are requested to please contact our Certification Coordinator for further guidance.
Registration Details
A formal announcement about the upcoming test will be posted in our community group six weeks in advance.
Parents can register their children using the Test Registration form below.
Upon payment of the fee, you’ll receive a confirmation message along with pre-test guidelines.
Results & Certification
Results are announced within 2–3 weeks of the test date.
Certificates are presented in class to celebrate each student’s achievement and artistic growth before their peers.

Elementary Level:
Multiple-choice questions (MCQs) covering the basic theory of Madhubani Painting
Sketching, outlining, and coloring a simple bird or animal (there will be choices provided)
A creative task designed to assess on-the-spot thinking
Intermediate Level:
A short subjective response (50–100 words) on topics such as Madhubani history, current trends, or the use of AI in art
Border drawing and finishing techniques
Human form drawing, including border work, sketching, outlining, and completing the piece using kachani, bharni and more

Paper will be provided at the test venue.

Absences will be excused only in the case of illness. No other exceptions will be accommodated.

No. Students who have completed more than 10 projects may directly take the Intermediate Level test.

The test is designed to be approachable and achievable. Students who have completed their respective level’s projects will find the tasks familiar and manageable. Both Elementary and Intermediate students will perform well with little preparation, as the test content aligns closely with what they have already practiced in class.
